    Make Their Loins Tremble

"They gave me poison for food, and for my thirst they gave me sour wine to drink. Let their own table before them become a snare; and when they are at peace, let it become a trap. Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see, and make their loins tremble continually. Pour out your indignation upon them, and let your burning anger overtake them. May their camp be a desolation; let no one dwell in their tents." (Psalm 69:21-25 ESV)

David was a man who was both loved and hated; revered and shamed; he was a hero and a zero and had many enemies throughout his life.  It is no wonder he would write such harsh words as the ones he penned above.

The thing I love about David is that he was an authentic song writer.  He didn't hold back his true feelings when he poured out his heart to God.  David, as we can see in his writings loved his time in praise to God.  He was connected with his inmost being to the loving God of his salvation.

David in this Psalm above was ticked, wounded and wanted God to give him some retrobution.  We don't know who David was talking about in this Psalm, it could've been Saul or it could've been about Absolam or neither.  All we know is the passion and the authenticity David brought to this Psalm.

In my life, I want to be as raw as this, saying things from a gut-wrenchingly honest place.  I don't want to hold back...yet I do.  I want to be so used by God that Satan's loins tremble.

David's description is comical, yet heartfelt.  He wants God to make his enemies wet themselves, shake in their boots and tuck tail and run!

"Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see, and make their loins tremble continually." (Psalm 69:23 ESV)

I think that Satan, when God's Spirit is residing in His people has a "wet his pants" moment.  Satan can't stop God!  When the believer is so yeilded to the Spirit of God, Satan can't do anything but have his loins tremble!

Sometimes, we get so bogged down at how bad things are, we forget to yeild ourselves to the Spirit.  We forget that we have one on ourside that makes the world tremble and causes Satan to pee himself with fear.  We allow Satan's little minions to trick us into believing that Satan has the power and our loins tremble.

My friends, this shouldn't be the case!  "For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" (Romans 8:15 ESV)

We are adopted into the family of God!  The Spirit resides in us and we need not tremble for the world, or for Satan.  They tremble before us!  Not because it is us in our puny selves that stand before them, but because the Spirit of the Living God is residing in us and standing for us!

When God is for us, who can be against us?! (Romans 8:28-31)

My brothers and my sisters, if we yeild ourselves to the Spirit of God, anyone or anything that is against us and Him will have their loins trembling!
